An Ultrasound scan allows our Physiotherapist to confirm the diagnosis following a subjective and physical examination.
Scans constitute part of the overall assessment and are a safe (no ionising radiation), non-invasive, cost effective (more affordable when compared to MRI or CT scans) way of assessing the integrity of soft tissue injuries. These structures include but are not limited to muscle / ligament injuries, fluid filled areas, bursal inflammation, nerve impingements and ganglions.
Following the assessment/scan, a report will be sent to both the patient and referring clinician.
Self-referral accepted.
Body areas for ultrasound scanning include: Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist/Hand, Hip, Knee, Foot, Ankle, Thigh or Calf.
